UCP of Sacramento and Northern California provides programs and services to individuals with a wide range of developmental disabilities. Volunteering is important at UCP, as it offers essential help providing with direct and indirect services, and the wider community. We rely on the generosity of volunteers in order to help children and adults with developmental disabilities live a life without limits.
Why Volunteer?
It feels good! Volunteering is mutually beneficial for you and UCP. While helping UCP programs and services you will have many opportunities to build your skill sets. If you are not sure about a particular area or have lots of interests, volunteering in different areas can help you decide what you like. Volunteering positions are a great way to meet people and create a positive relationship with other community members.

If you continue scrolling down this page, you will find our Volunteer Interest form. Please fill out the form with your accurate contact information as staff will use that to reach out with next steps. In this application, you will highlight your areas of interest, whether or not you want to volunteer directly, indirectly, or both.
If applying to volunteer directly with programs, you will need to complete a background check and supplementary interview with the program’s manager.
Depending on your area of interest, a staff member will reach out with more questions or next steps.
Once you have been interviewed and approved to volunteer there will be training you will need to complete. All training is done virtually.
For Direct Service volunteers, in additional to volunteering you will need to clear a background check.
Once you are cleared, you will receive access to our Volunteer Portal where you can access upcoming volunteer opportunities and keep up to date with UCP!
Once you have talked to a staff member, you will receive access to our Volunteer Portal. On this page, you will be able to view and sign up for upcoming opportunities and learn more about what is coming up.
