Recreation

UCP of Sacramento and Northern California launched our Recreation division in March of 2022 due to a need expressed by those in our community. UCP was receiving requests from individuals and from families for more interactive activities in the community in which clients and families could gather, make friends, learn, and socialize together.

UCP will partner with existing recreational programs to help improve the accessibility of integrated social and recreation programs that are person-centered and culturally and linguistically meet the needs of the population we serve.

Art on The Spectrum

Individuals on the autism spectrum or with other developmental differences are invited to a special morning at the Crocker with their siblings and caregivers.

Starting before public hours, drop in to enjoy a variety of art explorations including mindful art activities, tactile artmaking, music, and gallery walks.
The program is designed to offer families an opportunity to relax and connect through art while building a sense of community for all those affected by autism spectrum disorders. Social narratives, noise-canceling headphones, and a quiet space ensure the program provides a supportive environment.
