At UCP, our Board Members all have unique reasons for serving the organization. Some have family members with disabilities and have seen firsthand the difference UCP program and services can make in the lives of individuals with disabilities and their families. Regardless of the reason, their ongoing and passionate support of all we do helps inspire and encourage our staff of drivers, educators, caretakers, and respite workers. So, when a board member, like Larry Chillemi, sets out to do something a little extra for us, we want to stand up and cheer them on!
For the third year, UCP Board Member, Larry Chillemi, will be golfing to support UCP in Sacramento’s Villara Capital Cup. He will join leaders from the Sacramento region as they divide into two teams for an exciting 3-day golf competition. Donors will have the opportunity to support their favorite player (or their favorite charity), as each player is competing to benefit his or her favorite charitable organization. The winning team’s designated charities share a prize fund of $100,000!
He’s doing something he enjoys (golf) for something he believes in (UCP). That’s a winning combination!
Why is he supporting UCP? Because in Larry’s words, “Individuals with developmental disabilities are some of the nicest people in the world. These individuals, and the ones that care for them, are why UCP exists. Admiring both groups tenacity to nurture and teach one another how to survive and how to live life without limits is the reason I raise money for UCP.”
We can’t argue with that!
