A Much Needed Break

Caring for an individual with developmental disabilities can have severe emotional and physical effects. It can often leave caregivers feeling depressed, burned out, tired, and stressed. That’s where UCP’s Family Respite comes in. When caregivers need a break to rest and renew their energy, UCP’s Family Respite Services can help.

freedom that is often taken for granted

Simply put, Respite Care provides much-needed relief from caregiving duties when you’re looking after a loved one who requires frequent supervision and care.

The in-home program gives parents and caregivers the freedom to complete activities that we often take for granted in our everyday lives:

  • Running errands
  • Taking care of household concerns
  • Spending time with other children in the family
  • Resting or taking a break

Caregiving is a difficult job, but few know just how devastating the results can be when a family does not receive respite care.
