How to create a Facebook Fundraiser

Facebook Fundraisers are a great way to raise critical funds for UCP Sacramento and you don’t have to wait until your Birthday to do it. You can host a Facebook Fundraiser any time of the year! It’s easy to set up.
We know your family and friends want to join your cause. The secret to a successful Facebook fundraiser is that the host should make the first donation. A fundraiser that starts off with a donation is more likely to succeed. We recommend donating 5% to 10% of your goal. For example, if your goal is to raise $500, you can donate $25 or $50 to kick off your Facebook Fundraiser. Show your friends and family that you support UCP! 2 Click on Fundraisers in the left column
3 Click on the Select Nonprofit button
4 Search and select “United Cerebral Palsy Association of Greater Sacramento Area, Inc.”
United Cerebral Palsy Association of Greater Sacramento Area, Inc. is our legal name. We started in Sacramento in 1955 by parents who had a child born with a brain injury – cerebral palsy. At that time, the assumption was that they would put their child into state institutional care. These parents wanted a different life for their children. These parents did not want their children in institutional care – forgotten by society. They wanted their children home and in community.
Today, UCP of Sacramento and Northern California is the leading provider of comprehensive services to children and adults with all developmental disabilities and their families. UCP works with 6,004 people a month in an eight county area, empowering children and adults who – without support – would be isolated from community. UCP Clients: 51% have autism, 34% intellectual disability, 9% cerebral palsy and 6% Down syndrome & epilepsy.
5 Enter your fundraising goal and when your fundraiser will end
We recommend setting a goal of $500 and hosting your fundraiser for 2 weeks. 2 weeks allows enough time for your friends and family to help promote your fundraiser.
What Your Support Does:
- $500 Give the Gift Support to A Family
Low income families need to know the community cares about them and their child. 598 families are low income. A gift of $500 gives 10 families a much needed break for the parents.
- $250 Give the Gift of Community
Ensure 93 adults are connected to community and not isolated. Give them a ride on a UCP Bus.
- $100 Give the Gift a New Way to Relate
Teaching a child early sets a pattern for life. UCP Autism Center gives a child with autism a new way to relate to their world.

If you need a cover photo for your fundraiser, feel free to use the UCP logo.
