Kevin Nagle Biography
Mr. Nagle was the co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Envision Pharmaceutical Holdings, the fifth largest prescription benefit managers nationally at the time, before it was acquired by the Rite Aid Corporation.
Currently, in addition to owning and acting as President of the Nagle Company, which is actively engaged in real estate development, venture capital, and private equity, He is Chairman, CEO and the sole owner of Sac Soccer & Entertainment Holdings that owns the Sacramento Republic FC, and is under consideration for expansion into MLS. He is the largest regional owner of the Sacramento Kings and played an instrumental role in helping retain the team in Sacramento.
His success is rare and came from very humble beginnings. Kevin was born in Moorhead, Minnesota to a single mother who raised his two sisters and him. There was always food on the table, but the family lived in borderline poverty, and faced eviction at times. What he lacked daily comforts most take for granted, he received a strong role model from his mother, who taught him the value of a strong work ethic, family and the importance of relationships.
During high school and college, he frequently worked as many as 30 hours a week as a dishwasher, gas station attendant and clerk at Jack in the Box. He still made time to compete at a championship level on the high school wrestling team and was offered athletic scholarships to four year universities. Kevin also played baseball and football in city leagues.
Kevin elected to decline his athletic scholarships but used that discipline to achieve his academic goals and eventually became the community college student where he was the student body president who would obtain four-year degrees at Long Beach State in political science and communication studies and then master’s degrees in business and public administration at USC. During that time, he was an Intern for the State Assembly Speaker of California and later the investment banking firm, EF Hutton.
In his private time, Kevin has served as a Board Member for the award-winning St. Hope Charter School; is a Member of Advisory Board for the UC Davis School of Medicine, Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Saint Mary’s College of California. He supports numerous charitable funds and engages in significant philanthropy most notably in health care and education and has been recognized (2012, 2013, and 2014) as one of the Sacramento Business Journal top Leaders and Executives of the Year. In 2015, he was voted Executive of the Year in the Sacramento Region. He was inducted into the City of Long Beach College Hall of Fame in 2016 and appointed a Distinguished Alumni by the California State University system.
Mr. Nagle has an A.A. from Long Beach City College, a B.A., in Political Science and Speech Communication from California State University, Long Beach and an M.A., in Business and Public Administration, from the University of Southern California as well as an Executive Management Certificate in Medical Marketing from the University of California, Los Angeles, and Anderson Graduate School of Business. He resides in El Dorado Hills, California. He has two daughters, Lindsay and Haley Nagle as well as two granddaughters, Olivia and Ivy.
