Day programs designed for adults with developmental disabilities

UCP’s Adult Day Program gives developmentally disabled adults the chance to increase their independent living skills and reduce their feelings of isolation. Adults who participate in UCP adult day program work on daily living skills, verbal and non-verbal communication, person centered planning and becoming valued members of their community.

Benefits of UCP’s Adult Day Program

Activities include basic instruction in computer skills, practical math and reading, functional living skills and self-advocacy. Through UCP’s Transportation program, individuals have an opportunity to engage with their community through outings, helping them practice their new skills in a variety of settings.

Who Qualifies for UCP’s Adult Day Program?

UCP’s Adult Day Program works with adults with significant cognitive disabilities due to conditions including autism, epilepsy, intellectual disability, Down syndrome, or cerebral palsy. In addition, individuals that require support with physical challenges can also benefit.

Know someone who could benefit by the Adult Day Program?

Follow these steps:
1. Receive a doctor’s diagnosis of a developmental disability.
2. Get referred by Alta California Regional Center
3. Alta California Regional Center will pay for an adult 18 years and older

UCP’s Adult Day Programs help support our clients in their next stages in life. UCP has eight Adult Day Program locations serving over 320 clients annually. Each program works on developing and providing daily living skills, verbal and non-verbal communication, person centered planning and ensuring clients know they are valued members of our community. One of our participants, Gary brings light to staff and his peers alike, at our Twin Rivers Campus.
